I am delighted that DGLA has now gained real momentum, and with many new quality members joining the future for the group is increasingly bright. We now have 92 member offices in 72 countries and with the geographical and specialism spread improving weekly, this progression will continue and take the group to its next stage of development. This is where your input is vital as DGLA transforms into an ever more successful group of industry professionals. DGLA members are beginning to see the potential this network can offer. But to continue to provide additional benefits to members we are looking for ways to improve your networking and new business opportunities. We have a number of options and it is through your guidance that we can implement many exciting new ideas. Is it time to have a two-day meeting allowing face-to-face networking between DGLA professionals? Another option is a one-day training seminar during the 2012 WCAF Conference week in Bangkok, including a meet and greet cocktail to put the names to the faces within the DGLA network. Our desire is to make this network not just a listing of services you can provide, but also a full-scale working group of like-minded thinkers. This involves companies sharing ideas, exchanging sales leads and cooperating in daily business. 

To do this I need your input and direction – it is vital that your voices are heard. It would be hugely valuable if each of you could provide some feedback to the proposals presented here and provide your own ideas of ways we can make DGLA more productive. Would you prefer a seminar in Bangkok during conference week or a stand-alone conference at a yet to be determined location and date?  We are also able to offer an excellent opportunity for you to market your company to other members and the logistics world by placing your interesting moves on the DGLA website. Many of the moves you have conducted are unique and showcase the particular skills your companies possess. Please do send me your reports and I will give you the exposure you deserve. Free advertising never hurts unless you choose not to participate.
